NATALE PIMPINELLI

Italian Patent Attorney

After graduating at the State University of Milan, Natale built an extensive know-how in the field of materials, in particular cementitious materials, with analogous expertise in photocatalysis, fluoropolymeric materials and pharmaceuticals products.

Natale developed excellent skills in IP matters while working for several companies such as Montedison, Lepetit- Marion Merrel Dow and Italcementi, after a short experience as researcher at the department of physical chemistry of the Politecnico of Milan.

Today he boasts a multi-disciplinary knowledge of the field of intellectual property with special focus on managing patent inventions, from the prior art search at the origin of the invention, to the grant of national or regional patents, also comprising the defense of IP rights in front of Civil and Patent Courts.

As patent manager, he organized the patent function inside of Italcementi Group before, and Heidelberg Cement AG afterwards, where he was also responsible for the trademark area and for the development of technological Know-How.

As Italian patent attorney, he manages portfolios of over 250 patent families – from filing to grant – contributing to their economic value. Further strengths of Natale are the definition of licensing and non-disclosure agreements, the management of R&D projects and the relationships with Italian and International universities for applying to funding programs (projects MURST, Life, Horizon etc).

As for Technical Standards, Natale managed the function inside of Italcementi by directly participating as Italian delegate at the Italian and European standard meetings, both at Italian (UNI) and European (CEN) level, in sectors concerning Cement, Concrete, Aggregates and Photocatalys.
