Consulente Italiano ed Europeo Brevetti e Design
Giancarlo graduated from Politecnico di Milano in aerospace engineering, specialising in aerospace structures, with an experimental thesis on the characterisation of composite materials. His university education led him to become a patent attorney specialising in patents related to mechanical inventions, such as household items, medical devices, metallurgical implants, firearms, industrial fans, polyurethane injection moulding equipment and carbon capture and storage plants.
Since 2001, during his career as an industrial property consultant, he has worked with some of the most important Italian firms.
He has had the opportunity to support various types of clients, particularly in the mechanical sector, ranging from private inventors to research organisations, from SMEs to multinationals. The experience he has accumulated today gives him a broad knowledge of the procedures relating to the protection of industrial property, in particular through patents and designs. Giancarlo assists his clients on a daily basis in all stages of the protection process, from the preliminary stages, through the granting procedure, to any post-grant issues such as oppositions or infringement and validity cases.
He has been an Italian Patent Attorney since 2005 and a European Patent Attorney since 2008, thus being qualified to represent clients in patent and design matters before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), the European Industrial Property Office (EUIPO), the International Industrial Property Office (WIPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO). He is also qualified to represent clients before the Unitary Patent Court (UPC).
